Cello performance is something I have taken great pleasure in over the years. I was a cellist in the National Symphony Orchestra between 1995 and 2012, performing live on stage and in the studio with many excellent musicians.

Since 1995 I have also been a member of the Irish Film Orchestra. Getting the chance to work in the studio with such great arrangers as Elmer Bernstein and Fiachra Trench has been a real education for me.

In 2007 I joined the Orchestra of Saint Cecelia and have really enjoyed working with Kenneth Montgomery, Sir Neville Marinner, Blanaid Murphy and Proinnsias O'Duinn.

I have also spent a lot of time as a solo performer, under the guise of Ambiencellist.

There have been many improvisations at festivals and shows with poets, storytellers, actors, dancers and other musicians.

The ambiencellist project continues to be an incredible journey of creative discovery.
